چکیده
To compare discrete choice experiment (DCE) and best-worst scaling (BWS) in eliciting lung cancer treatment preference measurement. A face-to-face survey was conducted among patients recruited using a quota sampling 2 tertiary hospitals China. Participants completed sociodemographic information, 13 DCE BWS tasks random order, the questions about difficulty of tasks. Each profile comprised six attributes, namely, overall survival (OS), risk severe adverse effects, severity pain, appetite, physical functioning, monthly cost. generalized multinomial logit model used to estimate attribute level weights, which were further compute relative importance (RI) for each attribute. The weights rescaled calculate correlation coefficient between two completion time, tasks, RIs compared BWS. total 161 survey, with 29.8%, 5.6%, 30.4% 34.2% at stage Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ Ⅳ, respectively. majority male (69.6%) mean age 58.2 years. Respondents took longer complete than (25 min vs. 21min, P<0.001). However, task easier understand (74.5% 66.5%) answer (64.0% 57.8%), thus preferred by more respondents (49.7% 26.1%), generated similar rankings OS functioning ranked first 38% 24% DCE, 34% 17% BWS, Rescaled had strong 0.881 (P=0.000). ranking their correlated strongly. over

Best-worst scaling vs. discrete choice experiments: an empirical comparison using social care data.
This paper presents empirical findings from the comparison between two principal preference elicitation techniques: discrete choice experiments and profile-based best-worst scaling. Best-worst scaling involves less cognitive burden for respondents and provides more information than traditional "pick-one" tasks asked in discrete choice experiments. However, there is lack of empirical evidence on...
متن کاملWhat are colorectal cancer survivors’ preferences for dietary advice? A best-worst discrete choice experiment
PURPOSE Studies on healthy lifestyle interventions in survivors of colorectal cancer have been disappointing, demonstrating only modest changes. This study aims to quantify people's preferences for different aspects of dietary intervention. METHOD A best-worst discrete choice experiment was designed and incorporated into a questionnaire including participants' characteristics and a self-asses...
متن کاملThe First Discrete Choice Experiment On Usage of Bypassing Agents in Hemophilic Patients in Iran
Background: Bleeding events in hemophilic patients with inhibitors are managed by bypassing agents. Currently available agents in Iran are recombinant activated factor VII (rfVIIa; Aryogen, Aryoseven) and Feiba (factor eight inhibitor bypassing agent). No standardized and accurate assay is currently available for monitoring the effectiveness of bypassing agents. We suggested that history of the...
متن کاملTesting Cessation Messages for Cigarette Package Inserts: Findings from a Best/Worst Discrete Choice Experiment
This study assessed smokers' responses to different smoking cessation topics and imagery for cigarette package inserts. Adult smokers from Canada (n = 1000) participated in three discrete choice experiments (DCEs): DCE 1 assessed five cessation benefit topics and five imagery types; DCE 2 assessed five messages with tips to improve cessation success and five imagery types; DCE 3 assessed four r...
متن کاملParents and adolescents preferences for asthma control: a best-worst scaling choice experiment using an orthogonal main effects design
BACKGROUND The preferences of parents and children with asthma influence their ability to manage a child's asthma and achieve good control. Potential differences between parents and adolescents with respect to specific parameters of asthma control are not considered in clinical asthma guidelines. The objective was to measure and compare the preferences of parents and adolescents with asthma wit...
